COVID-19 Important links for PAs

Posted about 4 years ago

We all know information about COVID-19 is constantly being released and evolving, especially regarding PAs and other healthcare professionals in DC and across the country. Here are some important links which can provide answers to a lot of your questions and concerns and also with ways to get involved. Comment below with any questions and we will do our best to find an answer!

The American Academy of Physician Assistants is constantly updating their website with information helpful to PA's across the country. They also have a lot of information regarding the President's Executive Order expanding utilization of telemedicine for Medicare patients and other news affecting PAs across the country

DC.gov has the most up to date information regarding Health Notices from Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Health including CDC guidelines, updates, Local and federal testing instructions for patients and providers, numbers/statistics, and many other resources specifically pertinent to Washington DC

DC Health is encouraging healthcare providers who are able to help to sign up for the DC Medical Reserves Corps list of volunteers in preparation for the overwhelming demand on our healthcare resources

Maryland Academy of PAs has done an amazing job compiling resources and info including helpful links and considerations for all PAs and providers in the DMV and across the country

The Federation of State Medical Boards also has a comprehensive list about actions taken to waive licensing requirements for healthcare providers within each state and has written a letter to the Vice President waive licensure requirements nationwide during the COVID-19 emergency

Of course, the CDC and World Health Organization websites contain invaluable information as well!

Finally, Virginia's Governor has not yet released an Executive Order waiving licensure requirements for healthcare providers licensed in other states to practice in Virginia during the COVID-19 State of emergency.  Please send an email to the assignments editor at NBC 12, newsroom@nbc12.com, and request that their reporter ask Governor Northam at his press conference scheduled for tomorrow at 11AM about about any plan to pass an order waiving licensure requirements! You can also email the governor's office or share the story ON DCAPA'S Facebook and Instagram pages with the governor and all your friends

We have everyone in our thoughts at this time and hope everyone is staying safe and well. We want to band together and show our support in any way we can!
